Lausanne

Wedding videographer in Lausanne

Lausanne offers a rare combination: a dense, vertical city, a harbour at Ouchy, and the Lavaux terraces ten minutes away. Filming a wedding here means working with steep streets, fast-changing light and sometimes slow traffic. We prepare each day in advance, venue by venue.

Landmark venues

The Lausanne Palace and the hotels of Ouchy host the most formal receptions, with high-ceilinged rooms that forgive little improvisation with light. On the shore, Beau-Rivage Palace and its gardens open wide views over the lake and the Savoy Alps. To the east, the UNESCO-listed Lavaux terraces allow ceremonies among the vines: access is narrow, so the crew must stay light. To the west, Morges and Saint-Sulpice add private properties and quieter quays. The estates of the Vaud countryside, around Échallens, suit marquee weddings.

Seasons

June gives the longest evenings: dinner can begin in full light and end at dusk, which makes for a very continuous edit. In July and August the heat on the quays calls for shade during the ceremony and short breaks. September and early October coincide with the Lavaux harvest: low light, golden vines, clear air — the best window for wide shots. In winter the city films well indoors, with short exteriors by the water.

Practical advice

Plan journeys with the gradients in mind: two kilometres across Lausanne often takes twice the time announced. If you want portraits and shots in Lavaux, book a dedicated forty-five-minute window rather than squeezing them between two stages. For an outdoor ceremony near the water, ask for separate audio. Finally, tell the venue a film crew will attend: some places restrict positions during dinner.

Frequently asked questions

Do you film in Lavaux despite the difficult access?
Yes. We scout the route and limit equipment to what can be carried, so the timeline is never slowed down.
Can we have a short film for social media?
A short version is included in the Signature and Héritage collections, in vertical format if you wish.
How long do you stay on site?
Depending on the collection: until the early evening, or until the end of the first part of the evening. Hours are stated in the proposal.
Do you also work in Montreux and Vevey?
Yes, the Vaud Riviera is twenty minutes away; a dedicated page covers those venues.
How is the film delivered?
Online, in high definition, with download available and long-term archiving.
